Dr. Bedford graduated from the veterinary school at the University of Barcelona (Spain) in 1991 and moved to the USA upon graduation to complete post-graduate training. She completed a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine (Tufts University, 1996) and Animal Reproduction (University of Pennsylvania, 1998). She became board certified by the American College of Theriogenologists (ACT, specialty in animal reproduction) in 1997 and completed a Ph.D. in Reproductive Physiology in 2004. She spent many years in Academia and was an Assistant Professor in Animal Reproduction at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University, from 2004 to 2011.
In 2017 she also completed the acupuncture course offered by Chi University and is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. Dr. Bedford started working at the Peekskill-Cortlandt Veterinary Hospital in 2019, striving to provide the best medical care to her patients. Her special interests include surgery, ultrasound imaging, and senior pet care. She also offers acupuncture and specialty care in canine and feline reproduction. Dr. Bedford will also see pet potbellied pigs and small ruminants. In her spare time, she is a fully dedicated mom to her two boys, Oriol (12 years old) and Ian (5 years old), whom she adores, and her fur kids, Brandy and Buffy. Time permitting, her hobbies include swimming, hiking, traveling, sightseeing, listening to music, and attending life concerts.
